Synopsis
In this last episode, we will meet the lesbian and transgender Filipino workers that live in Hong Kong. The Filipino workers have lived in Hong Kong for more than half of their lives, but we can still how they are still being mistreated in comparison with the Western immigrants. They serve many different communities but encounter great prejudice, neglection, and suppression. We interview a transgender professor in Hong Kong, Brenda, as well as transman Marrz. Marrz moved to Hong Kong when he was 18 in search of freedom. Lastly, it is Sunday, the happiest day for the Filipino workers, their only day off. We interview Sheila, a member of Gabriela Female Right Group. She tells us about the many issues the Filipino workers face in Hong Kong.
You can see all their challenges and struggles, but also their resilience. On Sunday in Hong Kong, the streets are filled with people dancing and gathering freely in high spirits. The whole city seems to be surrounded with joy and happiness.
